Mergers & Acquisitions in October 2014

In what was a promising start to the final quarter of 2014, a total of 255 deals were publically announced in October.

 

During October it was announced that Qualcomm Inc. has agreed to acquire CSR Plc, a Cambridge-based developer of silicon, software and services for the consumer electronics market. Qualcomm will conduct the acquisition through its wholly-owned subsidiary Qualcomm Global Trading Pte Ltd via a scheme of arrangement. Based on Qualcomm’s offer price of £9 per share in cash, the transaction can be valued in excess of £1.49 billion.

 

Another notable deal that was announced in October was Emperador UK Ltd’s Acquisition of 100 percent stake in Glasgow-based Scotch whiskey maker Whyte & Mackay Group Limited and its subsidiaries for a total consideration of £408 million.
