Mergers & Acquisitions in May 2015

211 deals involving UK companies were publically announced in May, according to deals database Zephyr.

 

The most valuable deal to complete in May was the £1.85 billion acquisition of Wood Mackenzie Ltd by United States based Verisk Analytics Inc.

 

Wood Mackenzie is a global leader in data analytics and commercial intelligence for the energy, chemicals, metals and mining vertical, whilst Verisk is a leading data analytics provide.

 

Being part of the Verisk group will give Wood Mackenzie us a larger platform and broader solution set with which the company can continue to serve its customers with excellence.

 

May also saw Zoopla Property Group plc, operator of the popular online Zoopla property service, complete the £195 million acquisition of Ulysess Enterprises Ltd.

 

Nationwide Gym operators, LA Fitness, also completed an £81 million deal for rival Pure Gym Ltd.
